Day 6 – 30 Days Wild…

A wet walk to work…

As I stepped out of the house this morning it was hard to believe we were in the middle of a heat wave only yesterday. The slight rain that started early evening quickly turned into a fully blown storm over night and was still lingering as I walked to work.

As the rain poured down and the wind blew around me I couldn’t help but notice the trail of destruction left behind. Leaves, branches, flowers and seeds strewn all over the park but the wildness it created was really quite beautiful…a natural artwork.

I decided to collect a few pieces to identify and finally got around to using my press to preserve some of the leaves to use at a later date. So what started out as a wet miserable day was actually quite productive and wild ❤ ❤ ❤

Kindred Spirit…

‘My inner peace is set free by my kindred spirit.’

The cemetery is a place I frequent to find sanctuary and stillness away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This cemetery is unfamiliar to me and represents being at peace somewhere new while my kindred spirit watches over me from the other side. The cat, a stranger to me, symbolises new people in my life.

The Pathway Home…

I have finally found my way home down this new path of discovery, leaving behind the old chapters and turning the pages to find the new. This image tells of my desire to find my way on the new path that I have been embarking on, to find the courage to leave behind the past and the confidence to move forwards on this journey of self-discovery.

Mirror Mirror…

Projecting the reflection of the doorway in ‘New Beginnings’ and an image of myself as I am now in the reflection of the glass, Mirror Mirror represents a reflection of my past drawing into the future.

New Beginnings…

She has found the door to new beginnings and has passed through to the other side, bringing with it new challenges and hope.

‘As one door closes another door opens’ – the saying is self-explanatory but the gentle ghostly flow of movement rushing through this image validates the urgency and excitement of getting to a new beginning awaiting on the other side of the door. The stillness of the subject as she stands on the opposite side suggests hesitance and the apprehension that comes with change.
